An Artistic Vogue Behind Bars
House of Musa, a social enterprise established in 2020 by Ms. Joy Soo, focuses on weaving a fabric derived from the scientific name of banana, “MUSA,” which is made from banana fiber. The weavers are individuals who have been deprived of their liberty in the three penal colonies of Davao del Norte, Philippines.
Awarded in ASEAN Business Forum 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and 2025 Presidential Award in Malacañang with Business Inclusivity Recognition and Ms. Joy Soo as Most Inspiring Filipina Woman Innovator 2023 by the Department of Trade and Industry Philippines.
